entry for october 2009 gnomon monthly competition.

Things have calmed down a little bit at work. Enough for me to do a bit of Japanese ahead of our trip in November. This week has been very busy. Mixing Marcos' Global Echoes world music problem took an age yesterday, and we also had our biggest sport show so far on Tuesday.

4th Plinth - One & Other

you can see me on the 4th Plinth here as part of the Antony Gormley live artwork 'One & Other'

It was really cool to be part of the project, and i really enjoyed my hour (the time flew past). you can see what i was upto below. what you have to understand is that there are 5 very bright lights shining in my face (so i can be picked up by the TV cameras) and i can see almost nothing beyond the plinth, making it very hard to sketch the surroundings!

the team take you through the process (filling out forms, interviews, photoshoots) were all awesome! i totally enjoyed it.

just got the results of July's Gnomon competition.. i haven't placed... a bit gutted but I don't think the concept was strong enough this time. Consolation is that one of the wallpapers have been chosen which has bagged me another 2 DVDs - so thats not bad..
